Whether you’re a night owl who loves bar-hopping or simply prefer eating at late hours, below are five restaurants in the Dallas, Texas, area that can service your late-night dining needs.
Here is a quick look at Nandina Asian Tapas, Terilli’s, Fireside Pies, The Fish and Truluck’s Seafood Steak and Crabhouse.
1. Nandina Asian Tapas
Located: 5631 Alta Ave.
Dallas, TX 75206
Nandina Asian Tapas is a sleek restaurant that serves sushi, Thai and Asian cuisine.
The restaurant is open seven days a week and is accented inside with a clear waterfall, while outside on the patio guests get to enjoy some privacy, as well as a view of Greenville.
Specifically, Nandina serves awesome chicken and lettuce wraps, hot tapas and sushi. All entrees are largely proportioned and are meant for sharing. They also serve wine, beer, mixed drinks and sake.
Nandina provides excellent service and offers delivery to several nearby areas.
2. Terilli’s
Located: 2815 Greenville Ave (Monticello)
Dallas, TX 75206
Terilli’s is a unique Italian restaurant that’s been open for over twenty years.
Try their scrumptious crab claws, crab cakes and pasta salad, or their delicious veal, cheese tortellini and lobster asparagus salad. If you’re with friends, split the italchos, which are Italian nachos, and if you have a sweet tooth, try the rich xango cheesecake and cinnamon sugar wrapped in filo dough. They also have a great selection of imported beers.
Besides serving great food, they have awesome live jazz and piano music, an outside patio, widescreen TVs and super-fast valets. To get a good table, I’d recommend making reservations ahead of time. This is a great place for friends or large-family get togethers.
Terilli’s is open Thursday-Saturday from 11AM-2AM and Sunday-Wednesday from 11AM-12AM.
3. Fireside Pies
Located: 2820 N. Henderson Ave.
Dallas, TX 75206
Fireside Pies is a unique pizza joint, open from 5PM-11PM on most week nights and 430PM-12AM on weekends.
This isn’t your typical Chuckie Cheese or Dominos. Fireside pizza pies are loaded with fresh toppings and rarely used spices and ingredients, such as Kuby’s chicken pesto sausage pizza or Jimmy’s spicy Italian sausage pizza, which contains scamorza, sausage and roasted red onion. Other favorites include the Bruschetta, Triple ‘Roni Pizza, Piled Prosciutto Pizza and cheese salad. They also have fruit pies if you’re craving dessert, such as the mouth-watering, blackberry-vanilla swirl cheesecake, a la mode.
Upon entering Fireside, one can tell from the cozy décor that the food must be high quality. The restaurant is an open kitchen in a large room filled with booths, low ceilings, copper tabletops, bamboo, candlelight and ambient music in the background.
The service here is excellent, and the food is versatile enough to please kids, family members, co-workers and significant others.
4. The Fish
Located: 3636 McKinney Ave, Suite 150
Dallas, TX 75204
The Fish is a hip sushi bar and lounge that’s open Monday-Wednesday from 11AM-2PM and 5PM-11PM, Thursday-Friday from 11AM-2PM and 5PM-12AM, Saturday from 12PM-12AM and Sunday from 5PM-11PM. Supposedly the first Fish restaurant that opened in 2002 (in Houston, Texas) started the entire upscale sushi trend in that area.
Although The Fish is a sushi bar, they serve plenty of dishes to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. Favorites include the spicy tuna roll, shrimp and veggie tempura, binnaga taki with tangerine, nigiri, sashimi and braised short ribs. Try some of their tasty starters, like the beef rib-eye rolls with seasoned rib-eye, avocado, teriyaki and cilantro sauce, the cheeseburger roll with crab, tuna and spicy sauce or the tiger eye roll with jalapenos, salmon and cream cheese. They also have delicious, deep-fried ice cream; I’d try the mango.
With red and black décor, Asian lanterns and exotic music, this place is perfect for anyone who enjoys fine dining in a lush setting. The bar scene is dimly lit, patio dining is offered and a private dining area is offered for large parties. There’s also an all day happy hour on Sundays.
5. Truluck’s Seafood Steak and Crabhouse
Located: 2401 McKinney Ave.
Dallas, TX 75201
Truluck’s Seafood Steak and Crabhouse is exactly what its name implies; a restaurant for true steak and seafood lovers.
“Plan your getaway to Fresh Florida Stone Crab, served fresh from our traps to your table in hours,” says the owner. Indeed, Truluck’s is known for serving deliciously fresh and succulent seafood, along with “100% hormone and additive free Niman Ranch natural steaks and chops, that are tender, juicy and grilled to perfection.” The restaurant also has an extensive wine list, with over 100 selections by the sample, glass or bottle. They even won an award of excellence from Wine Spectator Magazine.
Try their peppercorn cowboy rib-eyes, chicken walnut BLTs, veggie benedicts, grilled lobster tails, breakfast tacos, crab claws or cream of poblano soups. They also have deliciously moist chocolate and carrot cake.
Truluck’s is open for lunch from 11AM-2PM Monday-Friday, for dinner from 5PM-10PM Monday-Friday, from 11AM-2PM on Sundays and from 5-11 on Fridays and Saturdays. Their prices are reasonable, especially with the large portions and high-quality of the food, charging $35 per person for a full course menu and under $100 for a 2-person, 3 course meal.
