Welcome to my updated 2010 NFL mock draft! If you are new to mock drafts is it simply a list of new NFL rookies in the order I think they will be drafted in. For some great mock draft information then read this article. Due to the fact that we don’t yet know the final 2010 NFL draft order I will go with how the draft would go as of today’s standings. Thanks for reading my updated edition of the 2010 NFL Mock Drafts that I will be posting. Please check the sources listed at the end of this 2010 NFL mock draft for some great mock draft websites. Here is my 2nd version of the 2010 NFL draft, updated on January 31st 2010

1 Saint Louis Rams- Ndamukong Suh DT- Nebraska

Suh may be the most highly valued NFL prospect ever! He is that damn good and is as much of a sure thing as you can find in a NFL draft. Suh is a no brainer for my 2010 NFL draft board rankings. This defensive tackle was the best college football player in 2009 despite the Heisman Trophy winner being a running back. The Rams may be tempted to go after a franchise quarterback but Suh is the wise pick.

2 Detroit Lions- Gerald McCoy DT- Oklahoma

The Lions offense has some potential but the defense is a mess. Gerald McCoy can be a force on the interior of the Lions defensive line for years to come. The fact that the Lions don’t need another franchise quarterback hurts Jimmy Clausen here.

3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Eric Berry S- Tennessee

The Bucs have a bad defense and Eric Berry can help shore that up quickly. He will fit right in a NFC South division that plays a hard hitting brand of football. This is a little high for a DB but he can help the Bucs.

4 Washington Redskins- Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma

I am not sold on Bradford due to his injury and lack of a pro offense but he will be taken by the Redskins here. Jason Campbell will be gone and the Skins wanted a franchise qb last season and didn’t get one.

5 Kansas City Chiefs- Russell Okrung OT- Oklahoma State

If one of the top DT’s do fall this far then the Chiefs may be tempted. But their offensive line is in shambles and the Chiefs need to rebuild it now.

6 Seattle Seahawks- Joe Haden CB-Florida State

I think Joe Haden is the best player in the 2010 NFL draft and the Seahawks will be thrilled to grab him here. Clausen could be a pick here but I think new coach Pete Carroll will go DB.

7 Cleveland Browns- Jimmy Clausen QB- Notre Dame

Can Clausen do what Anderson and Quinn can’t do and be a quality starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns? Yes he can if anyone can out of Notre Dame. Clausen is a no brainer here in my 2010 NFL mock draft.

8 Oakland Raiders- Bruce Campbell OT- Maryland

The Raiders have lots of holes to fill but the offensive line can use the boost that Campbell can provide. A possible franchise left tackle like Campbell can’t be ignored here. Russell may be given one more year to prove he is a franchise quarterback and Campbell will help protect him.

9 Buffalo Bills- Anthony Davis OT- Rutgers

New Bills coach Chan Gaily is a good offensive coach and he knows it all starts at the line. Davis can be a starter from day one if he signs and makes it to camp on time.

10 Jacksonville Jaguars- Tim Tebow QB-Florida

Everyone in the state of Florida except David Garrard wants Tebow to be a Jaguar. Tebow may not even be a franchise quarterback but he can put asses in seats which is a major problem for the Los Angeles, err I mean Jacksonville Jaguars. Tebow could well slide to the 2nd or 3rd round but I think the Jags will take him here. For more on Tim Tebow’s difficult transition to the NFL, click here.

11 Denver Broncos- Rolando McClain ILB- Alabama

Denver needs linebacker help in a big way and McClain can provide it with the 11th pick in the 2010 NFL draft. Most 2010 NFL mock drafts I have seen share my opinion on this pick.

12 Miami Dolphins-Dez Bryant WR-Oklahoma State

The Dolphins are in the need of a quality wideout to go with the slowly developing Ted Ginn. I know Parcels does not usually take a wideout this early but I think they will do it this year.

13 San Francisco 49ers- Trent Williams OT- Oklahoma

The 49ers have some decent skill position players. The addition of Williams at this point in the 2010 NFL draft will help the team use them.

14 Seattle Seahawks- Derrick Morgan DE-Georgia Tech

With Patrick Kerney’s retirement from a bad defensive line, Morgan makes the most sense here. Morgan will start right away and help a less than average Seahawk’s defense.

15 New York Giants-Brandon Spikes LB-Florida

The Giants could go for Dez Bryant if he falls this far but he won’t Spikes will help shore up a Giants defense that fell to average in 2009.

16 Tennessee Titans- Trevard Lindley CB-Kentucky

The Titans need defensive backs and Lindley is a good corner with great size and decent speed. He isn’t afraid to stick his nose in an make a tackle which is important in the Titan’s division.

17 San Francisco 49ers- Brian Bulaga OT-Iowa

Why not take Bulaga here to add to Williams?. At best you shore up your tackle positions for the next 10 years. At worst one will work out and the other maybe not so much. Singletary knows football is won in the trenches.

18 Pittsburgh Steelers- Taylor Mays FS- Southern California

If an elite offensive tackle falls this far (yeah right) the Steelers will pounce on him. But I my 2010 NFL mock, Taylor Mays is the right pick for the Steelers. Their secondary sucks and Mays brings some young blood into the mix.

19 Atlanta Falcons- Donovan Warren CB-Michigan

The Falcons are in desperate need of defensive help and Warren can help out in a division that has Steve Smith and all those Saints wide receivers.

20 Houston Texans- Jahvid Best RB-California

Yeah I know the Texans have other needs but their running game has been their downfall on offense. I think they go RB here and Best is the best (pun intended) on the board. The team could go offensive line at this pick though.

21 Cincinnati Bengals- Brandon LaFell WR-LSU

The Bengals need some pop to their passing game and LaFell has the size and speed to accomplish that. With the death of Chris Henry wide receiver is a must here for the Bengals.

22 New England Patriots- Earl Thomas CB-Texas

The Patriots need a running back and some defensive linemen but won’t pass up on Earl Thomas if he falls this far.

23 Green Bay Packers- Charles Brown OT-USC

Brown will help keep the big nasties away from Aaron Rodgers and let the Packers build that great offense up some more.

24 Philadelphia Eagles- Mike Iupati G-Idaho

This could be a reach but the Eagles have an explosive offense in place that can only get better with some line help.

25 Baltimore Ravens-Damien Williams WR-USC

The Ravens need wideout help badly and hope Williams won’t be yet another wide receiver bust from USC. Mason may be returning to the Ravens in 2010 but the team still needs multiple wideouts.

26 Arizona Cardinals-Sean Weatherspoon LB- Missouri

The Cardinals need some linebacking help and I think Weatherspoon can do the job here.

27 Dallas Cowboys- Dallas Cowboys Joseph Barksdale OT-LSU

The Cowboys offensive line has had some issues and Barksdale can be a nice fix here. The Cowboys could go DB however.

28 San Diego Chargers- Jerry Hughes LB-TCU

The Chargers need some young hitters in the linebacking unit and Hughes can provide that for them in 2010.

29 New York Jets- C.J. Spiller RB- Clemson

Jones is getting old and the Jets want to run the ball. Spiller is a threat to run or catch and can return kicks as well. Thomas Jones is not assured of a spot on the Jets in 2010 at this point.

30 Minnesota Vikings- Allen Bailey DT-Miami

The two Williams boys are getting long in the tooth and adding Bailey to a good D line rotation could make them the best in the NFL. Even if people really believe Brett Favre is retired for real, I don’t expect qb to be a priority. However the Vikes could go for a CB here.

31 New Orleans Saints- Greg Hardy DE-Ole Miss

Hardy on a nice Saints defensive line rotation can only make this improving defense, better.

32 Indianapolis Colts-Myron Lewis FS- Vanderbilt

The Colts can use a playmaker who can hit in their secondary since Sanders is hurt all the time. Lewis is a good fit here for the Colts in my 2010 NFL mock draft.
