Summer weddings are always hot! There are so many different things you can do for a summer wedding. One of the elements of your wedding will be favors for your gifts. If you are looking at a way to make cute, inexpensive wedding favors for a summer wedding then you have stumbled across the perfect article!
Wedding favors have come a long way from a box with a few Jordan almonds in it. Now wedding favors show off a theme or color scheme for the wedding.
For example, at my summer wedding I wanted a Cinderella theme in purple. I gave each of my guests a shot glass with our wedding date on it and a picture of Cinderella’s castle printed in purple ink on the shot glass. I placed a little bit of purple lavender scented potpourri in the bottom of the shot glass and then placed a tea light candle on top of it and had them all lit at each place setting for the reception. Very simple and inexpensive. People could take them home and keep them as a candle holder or as just a shot glass.
A friend of mine had a fall themed wedding at the end of summer. They gave each guest a simple wine glass that they filled with jelly bellies in their wedding colors and tied a ribbon around the stem. The ribbon had been personalized with their name and wedding date.
Another idea is to check around your area for a local bee farm. Ask them if they would consider making you small sample size containers of honey for your wedding. Most places would love this idea because it also gets their product out there to a large amount of people. Place handmade labels on them that you can print from your own printer with your wedding date, names and a cute little saying such as “Meant to Bee” or “Thanks for Bee-ing here with us on this special day”.
You can lip gloss as a special summer time wedding favor to hand out to your guests to protect their lips from that hot sun. For ways to make lip gloss check out this home made lip gloss article. You can print labels for the lids of the lip gloss container with your names and wedding date from your own printer.
Everyone attending your wedding is most likely going to have tons of pictures they take and one will definitely be their favorite and they’ll want to display it. So, help them out by making them their very own picture frame to take home with them as a favor from you.
You can do a simple picture frame buy purchasing frames from the Dollar store or Michael’s and then personalizing it to match your wedding by painting it in coordinating colors from your wedding. You can even glue small flowers on the corners that look like they came from your bouquet, or if you have a themed wedding glue on an item that matches the theme of your wedding.
On the back of the frame be sure and glue on piece of paper thanking your guests for being part of your wedding and include the date, time and place. If you have extra invitations or save the date cards printed up you can simply glue these on to the back of the photo frames.
