Justin Bieber fans have been doing battle on Twitter lately, but it looks like the zomBiebers have met their match in Stupid Fight, a new Twitter tool that those on Twitter flinging flames at Justin Bieber will likely enjoy. But what is Stupid Fight? Can it be used against other celebrities on Twitter? Does Stupid Fight give those that despise Justin Bieber definitive proof that his Twitter followers are the most stupid on the web, or do fans of other celebrities have a lower collective Twitter I.Q.?
First, you’ve got to understand exactly what Stupid Fight is and how it can be used to start Twitter wars amongst followers of celebrities on Twitter. Stupid Fight is an ingenuously stupid website (which you can find here) where fans of celebrities can type in two different names to see which celebrity’s fans are more stupid. The site judges stupidity based on the last 100 @replies sent to the celebrities entered into the two fields, and factors like the amount of exclamation points, overuse of “OMG”, and Shift key usage all contribute to the calculation of the overall stupidity of the celebrities’ followers. So how do Justin Bieber and other Twitter celebrities stack up? Here’s a look at a few fun showdowns on Stupid Fight:
Jenny McCarthy vs. Jim Carrey – Two celebrities getting a lot of attention for breaking up on Twitter, Jenny McCarthy’s Twitter followers are just a tad smarter than those of Jim Carrey.
Glenn Beck vs. Sarah Palin – Sadly, Stupid Fight portrays Sarah Palin’s fans as super smart (which doesn’t say much about America), while Glenn Beck followers are just about as “thick as two short planks”.
Grant Imahara vs. Adam Savage – Out of these two Mythbusters, Grant’s fans slightly edge out those who enjoy a good Savage explosion.
Jessica Simpson vs. Heidi Montag – Sorry, bionic Barbie; when it comes to Twitter celebrities, au naturale napalm trumps fembot.
Conan O’Brien vs. Jay Leno – Conan O’Brien fans have one more thing to feel good about besides Coco’s new show; when it comes to late night Twitter followers, they are the best and brightest.
Wil Wheaton vs. Neil Patrick Harris – So who comes out on top: the space explorer/evil genius or the super smart doc/ladies’ man/evil genius? Sorry, Wil; you’ve finally been beaten in a geeky Stupid Fight. When it comes to the Twitter celebrities that we love to hate most, NPH’s ability to sing and dance trumps your ability Texas hold ’em skills.
Brtiney Spears vs. Lady Gaga – When it comes to chart-topping female celebrities, SCIENCE has proven that Britney Spears fans are more stupid.
John Mayer vs. Dane Cook – Out of two male celebrities I cannot stand, Dane Cook’s Twitter followers are currently more stupid according to Stupid Fight.
Kim Kardashian vs. Khloe Kardashian – Uh oh; Kim wins at something again; her followers aren’t quite as stupid as Khloe’s.
Of course these battles could go back and forth as the latest 100 tweets on the celebrities’ Twitter pages continuously change. But what about Justin Bieber, you might ask? How do his followers stack up against the fans of other celebrities? Well, according to the sliding scale on Stupid Fight, which appears to go from 0 to somewhere over 1000 (the higher the number, the more stupid the followers), Justin Bieber fans currently score a whopping 921 stupid points.
So does this terrible Stupid Fight test score mean that Justin Bieber fans are as stupid as they come? Not necessarily. Most of them are just young, extremely passionate girls that just can’t control their exclamation points and OMG’s anytime Justin Bieber posts a new tweet. Most of us gals probably remember our first celebrity crushes when we were tweens (mine was Alan Alda on ‘MASH’; I wonder if he has a Twitter account?), and we probably would have reacted somewhat similarly if Twitter had existed back in our day. So, Justin Bieber fans, continue fighting the Stupid Fight until this pop sensation’s voice finally changes and his helmet haircut goes from looking cute to looking hipstery-douchey, and beware the Twitter flamers who will be attacking you with the Stupid Fight results. And if you need something to make you feel better, Justin Bieber fans aren’t the worse of those following celebrities on Twitter I found; Paris Hilton fans scored an astonishing 1033 on the Stupid Fight scale (at least you’re all young and there’s still hope for you).
