I’ve been doing a lot of researching on the internet and in stores trying to find out what’s going to be big in 2010. I’ve looked into the most popular areas affecting people today, which include: entertainment, fashion, lifestyles, and of course technology. Some are ongoing from the 2009 year, and some are brand new. Either way, the following is what’s to come in 2010.
Summer of Sequels
2010 promises big box office hits, filled with highly anticipated sequels and remakes. The long overdue Toy Story 3, Alice in Wonderland, Robo Cop, Iron Man 2, and of course the final installment of the Twilight series are just a few of the big budget releases we’ve all been waiting for. Hopefully they will be worth the long wait, and not another disaster like last summer’s Transformers 2….. dispicable! :(
This week, Google introduced their answer to the social networking phenomenon with Google Buzz. The application allows Gmail users to update their status, share photos, videos, and much more all in real time.
Protecting our environment is nothing new, and doing so will only grow in popularity. Protecting, not only the mother Earth, but ourselves as well, will never go out of style. Fad diets, new charities, environmental laws, and volunteering are going to gain followers in 2010 and the years to come.
As much as I hate to say it, the economic outlook of the US does not look good. Consumerism is down a whopping 30% from this time last year. Even those who can still afford to splurge every now and then are tightening their belts. Which means, high end retail is out … and resale shops, dollar stores, and wal-mart are IN IN IN
Back to School
Every year it seems more and more people decide to go back to school, and 2010 is no exception. The job market is getting more competitive these days, and with the economy in the dumps, companies can only afford to hire a minimal amount of workers…. the best of the best.
When you think about this logically, it makes sense. Women just don’t have the means to be getting their hair done every two weeks nowadays. On top of that, IT’S HOT!!! Only getting hotter, and what’s the cheapest way to keep a cool head?….keep the hair short or up off your neck. Short do’s, buns, and ponytails will skyrocket this year…. sorry guys. We know your woman’s long locks, but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.
Social Networking Privacy
It seems like every time I turn on the TV, I hear about some sort of issue with people’s privacy due to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. The amount of time people spend informing the world about every breath they take and every time they have to take a dump is more information than anyone needs to know. I have a hunch that something REALLY bad will happen due to user’s stupidity and willingness to expose themselves like morons. Only after a few highly publicized lawsuits will action be taken by these sites…. but until then, millions are being violated everyday by hackers, datamining companies, spammers, snoopers, and everything in between.
