On a quick shopping spree through Port St John, Florida ending in Titusville, attention was drawn to all the Christmas toys on display in the different stores. During the Christmas season the stores seem to get more toys than they normally carry and of all varieties for every age. The most important fact that was pointed out was the toys only cost $5. Can you educate and entertain a child with a Christmas gift for $5?
There were several books for under $5. There was a Hannah Montana sticker book with questions for the child to fill out for fifty cents. This would make an excellent gift for the Hannah Montana fan in your household. There were also some great books for pre-k and kindergarten students. The books were sesame street books with zoo animals, shapes, and numbers. The books cost $1 each and both of these items were at Family Dollar. Books are great educational tools and are worthy of being Christmas gifts.
Gifts under $5 included stuffed animals. These stuffed animals were dressed and they could be undressed and have their clothes changed. Dollar tree had several stuffed bears for $1 to undress and redress, they also sold clothes separately from the bear. Family Dollar had multiple type animals to dress and undress. The cost of these animals was $3 to $5. Even though these animals may not have much educational value when you first think about it, they are actually quite educational. These toys help your children acquire motor skills, imagination, and help your child to learn to dress.
Family Dollar and Wal-mart had similar toys for $5. The quality was the same as far as you could tell. The difference was where you purchased the toy. Both had trucks, baby dolls, and tea party sets. At Wal-mart they also had tea party sets that were more than $5, so you had to look carefully. Family Dollar had accessories for the baby dolls for $5. You could purchase a bag full of pretend baby items for your little one’s doll.
Family Dollar and Dollar Tree both had dress up clothes and accessories for $5 or less. These toys are educational and help your child learn to dress him or herself. They are also fun toys that children would not associate with being educational.
All the stores that carried books also had coloring books for under $5. Coloring books could be purchased with crayons and given as gifts to a toddler or young child. The gift would be less than $5 total and bring a smile to the child’s face.
