Do you want to write more articles online, but run out of ideas? When I first signed up to write for Associated Content last June, I did not know how successful I would be. I thought to myself, “What will I write about?” Well, eight months later I have published over 300 articles. Sometimes from day to day I do not know what I am going to write about, but for some reason, ideas just come into my head.
I have set a goal for myself and that goal is to write at least one article a day. On weekends I write more, so in a week I can write anywhere from 15-20 articles. I get paid for some of my articles before they get published, but others I just write anyway even though I do not get paid ahead of time for them. I do get paid as people read them each month though so it is not a waste at all.
I am a teacher so when I make up tests and quizzes, I submit them to be published. I also publish letters that I send out to parents, and in my title I write that it is a sample letter. For example, at Christmas time I sent my parents a letter wishing them a happy holiday. I entitled that Sample letter to parents from teacher at Christmas. I have had many readers on my educational publications. Whatever your occupation may be, there is always something that you can submit whether it be a table, chart or letter that you make up. Of course everything has to be your own original work. You cannot copy and paste from the Internet and claim it as your own writing.
Think of your own life experiences and things you like to do. I have written about singers, famous people, movies, books and things that I am involved in. Church is a big part of my life so I write a number of religious articles.
If I am absolutely stuck and have no ideas of what to write on, I write a news article. I want to keep my goal of writing at least one article a day, so I find something interesting in the news for that day. There is always something new in the news that will be of interest to you. When writing news articles, keep in mind that you want to make sure it will be well read. So you don’t want to write about an accident that happened in your town because not many people will read that. Be sure to write about well covered topics nationally and abroad. Some of my news articles recently have been on the Toyota recall, Tim Tebow, and Tiger Woods.
If your aim is to make money by writing, then set a goal for yourself and how many articles you want to write per day. Remember, you can always write about news articles if you have no other ideas.
