Before you go on vacation anywhere, it is always good to research the area to get an idea of what it all has to offer. It is hard though because there seems to always be things that you miss when you are on vacation somewhere new. In my opinion here are 3 must see spots if you travel to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Number #1- This first destination is definitely the number one must see spot in Cabo in my opinion and once you see it I think you will agree. It is called Lover’s Beach or also known as Playa del Amor. The hidden cove is located on the Sea of Cortez side of Land’s End.
The clear blue water is surrounded by sandy beach and smooth, towering rock cliffs. You can get here by foot, but it is highly not recommended because you need to climb the rocks from Playa Solmar, which is said to be a difficult task. Taking a boat is much easier and quicker. Make sure you get a boat with a glass bottom. It is awesome to see all of the fish below you as you travel to the destination.
Do not forget to take your camera! The views here are absolutely breath taking, you will not want to leave. Be careful if you choose to go swimming here because the Pacific Ocean’s currents are known to be strong in this area. And FYI use the bathroom before you go, there are no restrooms on the beach unless you use nature itself. Some people in our group found that out the hard way.
Number 2- Hang out and relax at Playa El Medano Beach also known as The Dune Beach. This beach consists of several miles of safe swimming conditions and also has perfect conditions for any water activity you care to participate in like sailing, water skiing, tubing, jet skiing or water tubing.
It is a huge tourist attraction that is surrounded by shops, bar and restaurants, so plan for it to be packed with people. But overall it is the best location for water activities. The view here is also spectacular. You can easily spend a whole day here and not run out of activities to do.
Number 3- Take an unforgettable scuba dive adventure at Cabo Pulmo. This is the first time that some of my friends that were on the trip with me have went scuba diving and they were blown away. I have been scuba diving in many different areas and this was definitely one of my top 10 favorite spots.
The Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park is home to the best scuba diving in the area of Cabo. Another interesting fact is that it is also home to the only living coral reef on the West coast of North America. So this is something that you do not want to miss.
The variety of marine life here is unbelievable. There are more the 350 different species that hang out in this area. With the clear water conditions you will have visibility to over 100 feet during late summer months.
Now I have been to Cancun, Riveria Maya and Cabo San Lucas. Out of the three cities I would highly recommend Cabo. The area is just simply beautiful and relaxing, but also has action in outdoor activities and nightlife. So it is the perfect destination for whatever kind of vacation you are looking for.
