Good coffee not only fuels the body but it can fuel the soul! That’s right, getting a good cup of coffee is like getting a good head cleansing or an excellent massage. Be it the coffee house atmosphere or the intense of flavors of a good cup of Joe, there is something about Coffee and their respective houses. Here in Denton, Texas, three Coffee Houses stand ages above the rest; Art Six Coffee House, Cups and Crepes, and The Hydrant Coffee House.
The Hydrant Cafe

Hours of Operation: Mon- Sat. 7 am until 10pm; Closed Sunday

With a full menu of breakfast, lunch and snack/ pastry items, there is no wonder why The Hydrant Café makes a top three list of Denton, Texas coffee houses. Still, it is not the Mi Casita breakfast taco or the Santé Fe Chicken sandwich the causes The Hydrant Café to stand out. Instead, it is the selection of Columbian, Belize, Ethiopian, Mexican and more, styles of coffee that pushes The Hydrant Cade above the rest! Never before have I tasted coffee that creates a party in my mouth, with every sip. In fact, the worst part about a ‘The Hydrant Café’ experience is having it end!
Moreover, the atmosphere of this location is unreal! There is always live music and free WIFI for students. Best of all, The Hydrant Café began as a small kiosk business inside of the North Central Texas College walls. This means that The Hydrant Café not only understands the unique needs of students in a college town, but also, caters to them!

Cups and Crepes

Let me begin by saying that I have NEVER met a person who didn’t like the food and service at Cups and Crepes. This coffee house is fantastic! Primarily, there are several coffee options to choose from, Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte, Coffee, tea…so many options and they are all great. Then too, just look at the menu and order some delicious food! Now, I am not, nor have I ever professed to be, a sweets kind of person. However, Cups and Crepes changed that idea for me. Their fruit peach and strawberry crepe is absolutely amazing. The crepe, sans the fruit, is delicate, soft and interesting. The fruit, then, makes all of the difference in the world. There are some great things happening within these walls. My mouth waters just thinking about them.
The only drawback to Cups and Crepes is the significantly limited amount of time that they are open. This is a full service breakfast/ lunch place. If you are hungry after 3pm, you won’t be eating Cups and Crepes food. However, if you go to the restaurant before they close, there are some beautiful choices that you can decide amongst. For example: biscuits and gravy for a really cheap price of under $3.00. Smokes salmon crepes, fruit crepes, crepe crepe! Any type of crepe, they have it.
