Here are a few common problems associated with aging eyes:
Hooded lids are caused when the skin of our lids becomes thinner. The muscles also become weaker. Thus, they begin to sag. Of course, we don’t always help this situation for rubbing our eyes. What can we do besides getting eye surgery?
Try using a product that will lift your lids.
You can also make your eyes appear larger by applying a white or champagne eye shadow towards your brow bone. Then line both your top and bottom eye lids with a dark liner.
Of course, if the situation is causing an interference with your vision, do consider eye surgery. In this case, your eye insurance may cover it. Talk to your eye doctor.
Yes, dark circles can be an inherited problem. However, they also can develop as we begin to age because our pigmentation underneath our eyes is changing. It is becoming thinner and loosing collagen.
What can we do?
Use creams that contain Retinol and Vitamins K, C, and E.
Apply a pink or peach concealer to hide those dark circles. Then keep your eye shadows in the light range.
We all know what crow’s feet are. They are those little lines and wrinkles that form around the outer corners of our eyes. Age can cause them. However, laughing, smile, and squinting can also cause crows feet to form. To help stop the process, do wear sunglasses when you are outside. Wear protective glasses, if you need them.
What else can you do?
Use a hydrating cream around your eyes.
Wear a moisturizing foundation and never apply powder over those lines.
You can have puffy eyes from crying. You can also get them from not getting enough sleep or from water retention. Heredity can even be a factor.
