The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada announced the recall of another baby/toddler stroller and two toys today due to safety hazards.
The Britax “Blink” Umbrella Strollers were recalled due to hinges causing possible injury or finger amputations to children when the stroller is being opened or closed.
Models involved in the voluntary recall are single stroller models in the “Blink” line. Model numbers are U261813, U261814, U261815, U261816, U261817, U271813, U271817 and U271815. These strollers were manufactured from May 2009 through September 2009. The model numbers can be found on a while label near the bottom of the strollers.
Approximately 14,000 of these strollers were sold in the United States and 900 in Canada. The recalled strollers were sold at mass merchandising stores, amazon.com, babiesrus.com, target.com, diapers.com and Buy, Buy Baby stores.
Consumers should discontinue use of these strollers immediately and contact Britax at 1-888-427-4829 for hinge covers.
The second recall concerns toys in the Pull-A-Long line manufactured by the Manhattan Group, LLC in Minneapolis, MN. The toys involved in the recall are Pull-A-Long Friends Toucan, Pull-A-Long Friends Alligator, and Pull-A-Long Friends Sharky. These toys are being voluntarily recalled because they contain wooden parts than can come apart and cause a choking and/or aspiration problem to children.
Toys involved in this recall contain the following lot codes: Pull-A-Long Friends Toucan with lot code 210720GB, Pull-A-Long Friends Alligator with lot code 210750GB, and Pull-A-Long Friends Sharky with lot code 210530GB. Lot codes can be found on the bottom of these toys.
About 2,400 of these toys were sold in the United States and 400 in Canada. The toys were sold in gift shops and toy stores nationwide from September 2009 through January 2010 and retailed for $22.00.
Consumers should return the toys to the stores where purchased for a refund or store credit.

The third recall announced today involves a wind chime toy distributed by Tiny Love Inc. of New York in several models. There have been five reports of the toys coming apart leaving metal exposed that can cut and injure a child.
The recall is for approximately 600,000 wind chimes including the following models: Baby Wind Chime #493, Baby Wind Chime-Ocean #593, Tiny Smarts Baby Bunny #512, Wind Chime Duck sold with the Gymini Kick and Play Activity Gym #811, Wind Chime Louie #516, Wind Chime Ella #517, Tiny Smarts Gift Set #539. Only the wind chimes are recalled in the gift sets and activity gyms.
The wind chimes were sold at Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, Buy Buy Baby and TJ Maxx stores from February 2002 to February 2010 for $8.00 for the single wind chimes, $22 for the gift set and $70 for the Kick and Play Gym.
These toys should be taken away from infants and children. Consumers will need to contact Tiny Love for a refund or toy replacement at 1-888-791-8166.
