Has country music gotten sexier? Or is it just the country guys singing those songs that have the airwaves burning up? I think it’s both, and right now there are some exceptionally sexy voices that have caught my ear. And I’m willing to bet that most of the girls out there who pay attention to country music will agree that the following men can sing to us about love, heartache, and honky tonks as often as they want and we will listen!
County Music’s Sexy Voice #1 – Josh Turner
Josh is a Southern boy from South Carolina who’s been hot on the country music scene ever since his debut in 2003. His voice has that deep, sexy baritone sound that takes the edge off of a girl’s hectic day, much like a relaxing glass of chilled wine.
In his song “Would You Go with Me?” when he asks, “If I gave you my hand, would you take it and make me the happiest man in the world?” who could say no? But it’s when he uses that sexy voice to sing, “Baby, lock the door and turn the lights down low, put some music on that’s soft and slow.” in “Your Man” that we girls melt into one collective puddle.
Country Music’s Sexy Voice # 2 – Trace Adkins
Trace is not new to the country music scene, having climbed on board in the nineties. According to his biography in MSN music, he played football at Louisiana Tech and worked on an oil rig before starting his music career. He blends honky tonk, blues and country rock like no other singer! His voice has always had that deep, country drawl that mixes magic into the song, but somewhere along the line he let his bad boy side out of the box. This tall, strong drink of a man, grew a pony tail and starting wearing tight wranglers which made his singing even sexier! The “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” video made the ladies sit up and say, “Hmm. I kinda like that pony tail look.” But as soon as he sang “Hot Mama” we all pulled our stilettos out of the back of the closet!
Country Music’s Sexy Voice #3 – Dierks Bentley
Dierks has some funky hair, no doubt, but somehow when we girls listen to “Come a Little Closer” and hear him sing, “With every inch of you against my skin, I want to be stronger than we’ve ever been” we start to like the idea of running our fingers through that tousled, curly mop of hair and wonder how the girls in Phoenix, ever let him move out of town!
Country Music’s Sexy Voice #4 – George Strait
No list of country bests in any category could ever exclude the King of Country, George Strait. His smooth Texas sound has been winning over the feminine hearts in America since the eighties! George usually has his pick of the best songs written by the best songwriters and we girls will always be smitten by his down home appeal and the sound of his voice. Listening to him sing, “Carrying Your Love with Me” makes us all dream of bringing home a bull rider and keeping him for about a week.
Country Music’s Sexy Voice #5 – Billy Currington
Billy has a voice that is like a sip of Baileys: silky smooth and addicting. His rough, unpolished look (and that same mop of hair that Dierks has) has an appeal that explodes once he warms up those pipes. In “Why, why, why” he reminds his lady “I been your lover, I been your friend, I been your faithful one women man” and then asks why she wants to change him now. Yes, I also have to ask, why?
Country Music’s Sexy Voice #6 – Josh Gracin
Josh #2 is a clean cut looking guy that every lady wants to believe has a bad boy side. They aren’t disappointed when they hear his sexy sound as he sings, “Stay with me”. We think he is talking to each of us in this song when he sings, “Lay your head on this big brass bed” and decide it’s okay if he bosses us around just a little.
Country Music’s Sexy Voice #7 – Toby Keith
In my opinion, Toby has always been underestimated when it comes to his singing, songwriting talent and even his sex appeal. Maybe it’s because his large collection of tunes includes a wide variety of topics, But don’t let his humorous side shown in his silly songs, make you forget about his love songs and the sizzling hot voice underneath it all. One of those love songs that is a good reminder is “You Shouldn’t Kiss Me like This”. What lady could not kiss him like that when she hears this sexy, shy guy’s voice signing to her?
These are the men in country music that I think have that S-E-X factor in their voices. These guys just start singing and the dance floor in any country bar fills up with girls in boots who want to rub buckles with the closest cowboy who can dance!
