It is not hard to see how our children ended up this way, but never fear you have a part to play as well. This comes from home cooked meals and how much time you let your child spend in front of the television everyday after school.

Even if your child is not obese you can however help them stay fit and happy. Every child needs encouragement and love. The whole family can be involved with physical exercise by encouraging them to participate in activities like walking, jogging, biking or washing the car. This will help your child unstick themselves from the television or computer. Choosing activities your child will enjoy makes everything a lot easier on him or her. However, do not go as far as restricting their diet, unless you are advised by your doctor to do so. When it comes to eating habits, do not eat while watching television, eat as a family at the table, children are less apt to snack or eat bigger portions like they would watching television. Always keep nutritious snack in the house. Alter your child’s habits gradually and they are liable to stay healthy the rest of their lives and not fight you on a big change.
Obesity may be a growing problem right now, but you can help the effort by squashing this epidemic in your home. Raising happy, healthy kids is a lot better than dealing with serious illnesses, that may or may not hamper the quality of life for your child. As a parent, it is to be said that no child should have to suffer the pains of humiliation in school and the side effects of being over weight.
