It’s hard enough choosing the right computer to buy without the added pressures of a crowded computer store. When shopping for a new computer, make sure you avoid the following times or you’ll risk waiting hours to find out the store is out of stock.
If you’re planning to buy a new computer, don’t make the mistake of shopping during rush hour. Computer stores are always their most crowded during times when everyone is off of work and crowding the computer store. It’s best to buy a new computer on your day off from work (except on the weekends) so that you can get to the computer store while the usual floods of customers are still at their workplaces. After all, it is called “Rush Hour” for a reason.
Shopping at your local computer store during the weekend is like shopping during a permanent rush hour (rush day is more like it). Most people are off from work during the weekends and you can guarantee the computer store will be crowded and the computer you want to buy might be out of stock. It might be convenient for you to buy your computer during the weekends, but it’ll be just as convenient for the other customers that’ll be crowding the store.
End of Stock Period
Most computer stores get their stock in on certain days and you’ll want to be shopping for your new computer as close to this day as possible. You don’t want to be caught shopping for a new computer the day before stock comes in or you can bet the store will be out of stock of the computer you want to buy. Simply calling in advance will be a great way to find out if the computer store is at the end of their stock cycle or if they have stock of the computer you plan to buy.
Shopping for a new computer from mid January to mid May can cause lots of frustration. During tax season, new waves of customers will get their tax money every week and the stock of your local computer store is sure to be wiped out at all times. Tax season is the second holiday season, the main difference being that during this season, people will be shopping for themselves – not loved ones that they buy cheaper stuff for.
It almost goes without saying that the Holiday season is the absolute worst time to go shopping for a new computer. During the holiday season, the computer store will be crowded, stock will be nonexistent, and waiting times will be at an all time high. Only do your holiday shopping for a personal computer if you’re not too picky about the computer you want to buy (because the one you want will definitely be out of stock).
