Review: Blush Crush Baked Blush by Hard Candy

by tinyswot

Hard Candy cosmetic is sort of a new brand of makeup that is currently only available in Wal-Mart stores. Hard Candy debuted its line in the Fall of 2009. If you’re wondering why the name sounds familiar, and if it’s the same Hard Candy that use to be sold in Sephora stores, yes it is, sort of. Hard Candy use to be owned by Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy, which also owns Sephora but the brand was eventually sold to another company. Hard Candy revamped itself, and is now available to the mass at a more affordable price. It’s also the sister brand to Urban Decay, which shouldn’t be much of a surprise considering the artsy packaging. I had heard of Hard Candy back in the late 90s but have never actually bought any of their products. When I saw that it was now available at Wal-Mart I was excited to see what sort of products they had to offer, as well as test out the quality. One Hard Candy product that I tried out was their Blush Crush Baked Blush.

Hard Candy’s Blush Crush Baked blush was my first experience with baked makeup so I wasn’t sure what to make of it. I’ve heard a lot of great things about baked makeup in general, and had read many good reviews on Hard Candy as a brand, still I had to try it for myself. What I liked about Hard Candy’s Blush Crush Baked blush was that it was no doubt an easy product to find since it’s currently only sold at Wal-Mart, and what place in the US doesn’t have a Wal-Mart? I thought it was pretty affordable as well, costing just $6. I was impress with the quality. Not only was the packaging nice, but I thought it was pretty durable as well. I liked that it came in an easy to close and open, snap container. I didn’t have to worry about the lid popping open and blush getting everywhere inside my purse. I also didn’t have to struggle to try and open the lid either. As for the quality of the blush, I absolutely loved it. It comes in several shades, and each one is a marble like design of two shades. The two shades blend together perfectly to create a gorgeous blush. I got mine in “Pin Up” and it looked amazing, not to mention natural.

The best part, in my opinion, about Hard Candy’s Blush Crush Baked blush as well as the entire line was that it’s cruelty-free. Hard Candy doesn’t test on animals. Not only was the quality much better than most drugstore brands, but it also didn’t irritate my skin nor did it clog my pores. The blush went on soft, evenly and felt like silk gliding across my skin.

There’s really no downside to Hard Candy’s Blush Crush Baked blush if you ask me, except that it didn’t come with a brush. Overall though, I was very pleased with this Hard Candy blush and would no doubt purchase it again. If you haven’t tried this product yet I would highly recommend it.
