After running errands in Orlando, I decided to stop at Vinh’s to have lunch. Though this is one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants, it must have been a good two years since I ate there. The only reason why it’s been so long is because I moved from Orlando to Kissimmee about three years ago and I don’t get to go to Orlando very often. I was excited to visit Vinh’s again because the last time I was there, I was a satisfied customer. I was looking forward to exceptional food and service. And just as I expected, Vinh’s never disappointed me.
Vinh’s is located along the Vietnamese shopping strip near downtown Orlando at 1231 E. Colonial Drive. There are two entrances to this restaurant. You could either park along the road and enter through the front of the restaurant or you could park in the back of the restaurant in their parking lot and enter from the rear of the restaurant. But no matter what entrance you came through, there will be a friendly face to greet you. When my party and i came from the back entrance, a server greeted us and showed us to our table.
Since the last time I’ve been there, it looks like there were some slight changes. They installed colorful light fixtures that hangs down and has a spotlight on the individual tables. The restaurant was nice and airy looking with glass windows giving the restaurant a lot of natural light. There were pretty holiday decorations and lights to fit the season. The tables were very well spaced out giving a lot of room for easy access for people in wheelchairs. The tables were clean and organized as usual. The server immediately grabbed a high chair for my daughter and brought iced cold water for us. I was happy that the water did not taste like chlorine like most other restaurants. After serving us water, the server stood by and took our orders. He wasn’t pushy and allowed me to have a lot of time to go over my menu.
I ordered the egg noodle seafood soup for my main course and summer rolls for my appetizers. My fiance ordered a bowl of pho and summers rolls as well. I was expecting to wait awhile for the summer rolls because it takes time to roll the rolls perfectly, but within a few minutes, the server brought them out. They were freshly made and delicious, the best I’ve tasted thus far. After we finished our appetizers, the server cleared our tables and brought out our hot steamy soups. It was quite nice to have hot delicious soup since it was a bit cold and rainy outside. When I took my first bite, it felt like home made. Both my fiance and I cleared off our bowls. My daughter enjoyed her meal as well even though she is a picky eater. There is nothing bad I can say about Vinh’s. The service, the atmosphere, and the food is superb. I will definitely go back to Orlando just to eat there very soon. I recommend this restaurant to whoever enjoys great food and service.
