Niagara Falls – One of God’s Wonders or Just another man-made creation?
On our trip to Niagara Falls we were able to feel the awesomeness of what I feel God created. As you stand on the either side, in Canada or the United States, you can see the amazing picture of the falls. For this to be created by man would seem to me to be impossible. The power that is created by the falls, and the fact that, even though the ground under them is receding each year from erosion, the water never seems to slow down change in any way. My wife and I were able to just stand there and enjoy the beauty of the water raining down and not pay any attention to anyone around us.
One other thing that you can do is go behind the falls. There are caves and tunnels behind the falls that allow you to see and hear the roar of the amazing amount of water that goes down the falls each and every day. You are not able to get too close to the water but you can feel the roar in your chest, feel the dampness in the tunnels and see again the amazing power the water puts forth.
Another fun attraction is being able to basically go right under a portion of the American Falls and actually feel the water hitting you. There are steps and a walkway for those that do not want to take part in being right under the water. I went right on to the deck you see on the commercial on television about Thompson’s Water Seal, and stood there for several minutes just letting the water rain down on me. What a rush!!!
Probably the most amazing part for my wife and I and the real reason that we feel there is no way a person can say this is man-made was riding the Maid in the Mist to the base of the falls. The boat chugs and pushes until you feel the mist from the falls hitting you in the face and here you feel the roar of the falls coming down in every fiber of your body. As the motor of the boat strains to keep the boat at the base, you can see the power of God revealed right before your eyes. When we were there the sun was shining down across the falls and created the most beautiful rainbow I have ever seen. To me, you almost feel like God is right there on the boat with you. As the boat begins to pull away you get the feeling of loss because you are returning to the normal slow water and can no longer feel the power of the water.
All in all, Niagara Falls can be the most romantic, most enjoyable and God-fearing place you could ever see. If you believe in God or whatever your supreme being may be and cannot feel the power from them while at the falls, I am not sure you every will feel it anywhere else.
