Week 15 was a very eventful week in the NFL. Now let’s see what Week 16 has in store for us.
San Diego Chargers at Tennessee Titans:
The Chargers are on a 9-game winning streak and clinched the division with a win last week against the Bengals. The Chargers have been dominating on the field and looks as though this year they may make a legitimate Superbowl run. The Titans slipped by the Dolphins last week in overtime. Since Vince Young took over the starting position, they have won 7 of the last 8 games, their only loss coming to the undefeated Colts. The Titans are still in the hunt to earn a playoff berth. This game is dependent on how long the Chargers play their starters.
Chargers 27, Titans 24
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints:
The Buccaneers won their second game of the season last week. They were able to cause turnovers and score off of them. The Saints suffered their first loss last week. They have already clinched a playoff berth with a first round bye. They’ve been dominant throughout the season and should continue to be this week against the Buccaneers. The Saints might not play their starters throughout the whole game.
Saints 28, Buccaneers 14
Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburg Steelers:
The Ravens and Steelers are both still in the hunt for a NFL playoff spot. The Ravens are in the lead for the wildcard and the Steelers are one game behind, but have three teams ahead of them in the race. The Ravens dominated the Bears last week and showed why they are a dominant team in the AFC. The Steelers ended their four-game slide when they defeated the Packers on the last play of the game last week. Both teams feel the need to win this game to make it to the playoffs.
Ravens 31, Steelers 28
Kansas City Chiefs at Cincinnati Bengals:
The Chiefs have no chance at making the playoffs. The Chiefs are coming off a horrible loss to the Browns who scored over 40 points against them. The Bengals have to win this game to clinch a playoff berth. After losing Chris Henry, they put up a fight against the Chargers, but fell in the last seconds of the game to a game-winning field goal by Kaeding.
Bengals 35, Chiefs 21
Jacksonville Jaguars at New England Patriots:
The Jaguars are coming off a close loss to the Colts last week. This loss put them a game behind in the hunt for a wildcard spot. The Patriots need are two games ahead of the Dolphins. Last week they squeezed by the Bills. A win this week will guarantee the Division title and a spot in the playoffs.
Patriots 21, Jaguars 17
Buffalo Bills at Atlanta Falcons:
The Bills and the Falcons are unable to make it to the playoffs. The Bills lost to the Patriots in the fourth quarter last week. Atlanta was weak in appearance but pulled off a 10-7 victory against the Jets last week.
Falcons 17, Bills 14
Carolina Panthers at New York Giants:
The Panthers have been eliminated from the playoff race, but that didn’t stop them from embarrassing the Vikings last week. Their defense was super affective last week and if that continues into this week, they should put up a good fight against the Giants. The Giants are coming off a big victory against the Redskins. Their passing game was very affective last week and put up big points against the Redskins’ defense. They are one game behind in the wildcard hunt and will need to win this week to stay in the hunt.
Giants 28, Panthers 17
Houston Texans at Miami Dolphins:
The Texans and Dolphins are both in the hunt for the wildcard playoff spot. The Texans won their last two games to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Texans had troubles last week moving the ball against the Rams’ defense. The Dolphins are coming off a 3-point loss to the Titans. The Dolphins are one game behind in the wildcard chase. They will be fighting hard and hoping for the best.
Dolphins 24, Texans 14
Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers:
The Seahawks got dominated by Tampa Bay last week. Their offense has been unable to get anything going and their defense is just as weak. The Packers suffered a last second loss last week to the Steelers. They put up over 400 yards and 36 points on the board. However, they allowed over 500 yards in the air to the Steelers. The Packers’ defense will be looking to improve this week
Packers 38, Seahawks 10
Oakland Raiders at Cleveland Browns:
The Raiders and the Browns are both out of the playoff race. The Raiders have improved throughout the season and has pulled off some remarkable upsets, one of which was last week against the Broncos. The Browns have also improved this season. They put up over 40 points against the Chiefs last week.
Raiders 21, Browns 17
St. Louis Rams at Arizona Cardinals:
The Rams are at the bottom of the NFL power rankings and haven’t had much luck when it comes to injuries. They might have their starting quarterback and running back this week. The Cardinals are coming off a victory against the Lions and clinched the division. This week they will most likely start with their starters, but might bench them later in the game.
Cardinals 24, Rams 7
Detroit Lions at San Francisco 49ers:
The Lions and 49ers are out of the playoff race. The Lions have been weak on offense the last few weeks due to injuries. The 49ers are coming off a loss to the Eagles. They’ve been on and off this whole season and will hopefully be “on” this week against one of the bottom teams in the league.
49ers 28, Lions 14
Denver Broncos at Philadelphia Eagles:
The Broncos are still on the top in the chase for the wildcard, but they suffered a devastating loss last week to the Raiders. This week they will be looking to stay on the top of the wildcard race by defeating the Eagles. The Eagles clinched a playoff berth last week with the win over the 49ers. They will be looking to earn the division title by winning their next two games. The good news for them is that Westbrook might be back next week to help boost the running game.
Eagles 24, Broncos 17
New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts:
The Jets are 7-7 and looking for one of the AFC wildcard spots. They had troubles moving the balls last week against the Falcons and only put up 7 points. Their defense played well, only allowing the Falcons to score 10 points, but the offense needed to improve. The Colts are still undefeated and are looking to continue the NFL record win-streak. Manning has been unstoppable and the Colts defense is amazing. Will the Colts play their starters throughout the game? We’re not quite sure; but if they do, the Colts should win this game pretty handily.
Colts 28, Jets 7
Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins:
The Cowboys pulled off their biggest victory of the year last week, defeating the Saints 24-17. Their offense was super productive and their defense held Brees to only 1 touchdown. The Redskins were embarrassed at home last week. Their offensive game wasn’t productive the first half and many of the plays that were run were pathetic.
Cowboys 17, Redskins 10
Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears:
The Vikings clinched the division last week with the loss by the Packers. That doesn’t say much though, because they got dominated by the Panthers’ defense. They were unable to stop the run. There was also an argument on the sideline between Favre and Childress that might affect the team in December and into January. Usually Ravens wait until their food is dead, but they ate the Bears alive. Jay Cutler has proven to be ineffective as a Bears quarterback and the running game is not productive. The defense has been weak since they lost Urlacher in the first game of the season.
Vikings 38, Bears 21
