I caught a brief segment of the Neal Boortz show this morning in which he mentioned that the website “The Drudge Report” showed the new logo of the Missile Defense Agency website.
Most of you are familiar already with the “Obama symbol”, the blue letter “O” with the three red stripes through the bottom of it, which according to Obama, is the rising sun, indicating that Obama is the “man of tomorrow”. It’s hard to miss… it was plastered all over the damn place during the elections, and is still fairly common now, especially on bumper stickers.
I could go into Obama’s disturbing attachment for the symbol and its connection to how dictators and tyrannical organizations of the past and present have a thing for displaying symbols for themselves everywhere, but I digress.
If you visit the Missile Defense Agency website, it’s hard to miss; it’s right there at the top-left corner of the page. However, they do still use their old symbol, which is barely noticeable at the bottom-left of the page.
Notice the similarities between Obama’s symbol and the new logo? They share the same colors and same basic format. Some have even argued that it also closely resembles the star and crescent symbol for Islam. Though a few have argued that this indicates Obama’s support for Islam, while I agree that the symbols share some resemblances, I doubt that it actually means that. Obama has stated several times that while he does have some ties to family members that practice Islam, he is not a Muslim himself. True, he went to a very radical church (Trinity United Church of Christ) under the Rev. Jeremiah Wright for 20 years (and he had no idea that the Rev. Wright was so radical… right), but it’s still a Christian church, not a mosque.
He may be a liar, but I’m just going to take his word on this one.
While I haven’t yet seen any explanation of how the Missile Defense Agency came up with that symbol (other than it was created by the company “TMP Government”), I’m inclined to believe that the Obama administration did have some influence on it. However, I will also admit that I could be completely wrong. The design could be a simple coincidence. It’s way too early to tell as of this writing.
Besides, the colors red, white and blue are very common in American-themed logos. They are the colors of our flag after all. But until we learn more about exactly how the MDA came up with this design, I imagine that at least for the time being, it will make for interesting conversation for blogs, talk radio and the water cooler.
