Jenni received a phone call from her mother asking her if she would like to live in her grandma’s house because her mother, aunt and uncle were worried about the house being broken into. Jenni gladly excepted, she and her children moved back to her grandma’s house.
Jenni decided to send a care package to William so she started baking cookies, buying little things and at the time she had a tape recorder so Jenni and her children recorded a message for William. They sung a song and each of the them told William how they were doing and how much they missed him. Jenni packed the large care package filled with their loving gifts and sent it on it’s way.
A couple of weeks later Jenni received a letter in the mail from William telling her how much he appreciated the care package that her and her children had sent him, that he was doing fine and that he loved them.
One day while Jenni was watching the news she learned that there was fighting going on in the Persian Gulf where William was, she was so worried but William couldn’t tell her about what was happening because it was classified information.
Jenni and William wrote many letters to each other. Jenni and her children sent care packages and every once and a while William would get to call Jenni.
Finally after five grueling months William returned home safe but not the same man he was when he had left.
Jenni had no idea what he had seen or what had happened while William was out at sea, he wouldn’t talk to her about it.
She told William that he could stay with her and the children and he did but what was strange is that William didn’t unpack his things as if he knew that he wouldn’t be staying long and that he had bought some perfume in the orient for Jenni and didn’t give it to her when he came home.
Less than two weeks later a mutual friend invited William to a party that he was having and even though Jenni wasn’t invited William went. Jenni was very upset, she felt so left out and wondered if William really cared about her at all.
He finally came home after Jenni worried for hours. Jenni had never seen William as intoxicated as he was that night. She started taking off his clothing so he would be comfortable when he slept and noticed he wasn’t wearing any underwear, she assumed that he had been with another woman because she wasn’t invited to their friends party and William didn’t ever go commando.
Jenni couldn’t control herself she was so devastated and angry she started yelling and throwing dishes at the dinning room table. All she could think about is that her friend set up William with someone and that William had cheated on her.
William got his things together and left.
Not to long after that happened Jenni and her children were walking to the store and she saw William, their friend and his wife and another woman walking down the road, William noticed Jenni and looked at her with a sorrowful expression as they kept walking. She then knew that what she had thought was true and a few months later William and the other woman were married.
Jenni was never the same, she felt so betrayed and that no one truly cared about her. Her mother wasn’t there for her and the only person that would have been there for her had passed away.
