Years ago, I was introduced to the world of makeup. I discovered there were a few makeup items you just did not leave home without. Every female has at least two makeup must-haves in their makeup bag. Panic sets in if you reach for your makeup bag and its not there.
As a young girl, I was one of those females who felt natural was the way to go. Yet, when I became a host in a large restaurant, located in the very front of Pensacola’s most popular shopping mall, I was the first face most people saw when entering.
One day, a makeup artist was demonstrating his skill at what was then the place every woman in Pensacola shopped. The young man who worked for Flori Roberts walked into the restaurant and asked me to come down for a demonstration. I was hesitant but after a few long minutes, I agreed.
I am naturally a very light complexion African American female. After several minutes of sitting and allowing the makeup artist to work, I was amazed when he placed a mirror in my hand and I took the first look at my completely made up face. Even though I felt I was okay as I was, after observing the result of a few strategically placed blush strokes and lipstick, I was glamorous. Since that day, I have never left home without my makeup must-have.
Makeup Must-Have: Foundation
Unless blessed with perfect skin, there are times when we all can see little blemishes or imperfections on our complexion. No matter what you do, everyone talking to you will eventually look at these little blemishes. Especially acne breakouts. To diminish the appearance of flaws, scars, imperfections of any kind, foundation is a lifesaver for women.
When you are out in the public, you want to make the best impression. Never leave home without first applying your foundation. Afterwards, use a light loose translucent powder to set the foundation. Finish by applying your lipstick and eyeliner. Before leaving your vanity, take a cotton ball and blend the makeup to guarantee you have no areas showing where your makeup ends and your God given complexion begins.
Makeup Must-Have: Lipstick
My skin tone is even throughout my body. Therefore, unless I apply lipstick, my tone is the same from my forehead down to my toes. To give my face a little more definition, I love wearing lipstick. I find that with my light complexion, reds, oranges and deep pinks add a distinctive appeal. The deep hues usually add a beautiful ambiance to my complexion. My husband would always say my lips were the most kissable he ever saw.
Women should always make sure before they walk out their front door for any reason, they have checked, double checked and checked again to guarantee everything has been pushed, pulled and tucked to guarantee their natural beauty has been enhanced.
