Steps to Create Free Online Christmas Cards

Go online to HP “Creative Studio for Home” (See Resources for link). Under “Project Types,” select “Cards & Stationary.”

Select “Greeting Cards” to display all of the cards you can create. Place a checkmark on the box next to “Free.” This will display all of the free Christmas card templates.

Place a checkmark next to “Use Your Photos” also, if you would like to include a picture in your Christmas card. This displays all of the free cards that include pictures in the templates.

Use the arrow on the right side to scroll through all of the available templates. Notice the various styles and sizes including 5 x 7 cards, 4 x 8 cards, gift-cards, pop-up cards and others.

Hover your mouse over any of the templates until you see a button that displays “Quick Info” and click on it to learn more details about this particular card. This opens a new window displaying the specific Christmas card “finished size” and the type of paper needed (Required Materials). In order for you to print this card, you will need to obtain the proper materials first.

Go through all of the available Christmas card templates shown until you find one you want to use. Click on the card itself to open it or click on “Select” after you opened the “Quick Info” for the card you want. This opens a new page to make your Christmas card. It shows a picture of the card on the right.

Click on any text box shown on the template to add your own holiday message. Highlight the text “Enter your personal message here” and type in your own words.

Alter the font style and the size using the available down arrows above the text box. Change the color of the text through clicking on the box to the right of the font size and choosing the precise color you want.

Add a photo (if applicable) to your Christmas card by clicking on the “Import photos” link on the left side. Select either “My Computer” for photos you have on your system or “Snapfish” to use pictures you have in a Snapfish account.

Follow the directions to locate the photo required and upload it to your Christmas card template. You can upload more than one picture to try various ones on the card. Upload the photo(s) wanted.

Click on the photo, drag it over to the card on the right side and let go to place it in the template. Adjust the picture using the buttons “flip,” “rotate” and “scale” or get rid of it using the “remove” one.

Check over the Christmas card you made and alter any parts of it until you are satisfied with it. Click on “Preview and print” located on the upper right side of the window to continue.

Follow the directions supplied to print a test copy of the card on regular paper to check the alignment and overall look. Make any adjustments needed.

Load the printer with your card stock paper. Print your free Christmas cards as directed.
