Haagen Daz Low Fat Frozen Yogurt in “Vanilla Raspberry Swirl”

by tinyswot

Even though it’s the middle of a cold December, I had a taste for some ice cream last weekend so I made a trek to my local grocery store to pick up a pint. When I got there I saw that all of the ice creams by Haagen Daz were on sale so I decided to try a flavor I hadn’t tasted before, the Vanilla Raspberry Swirl.

Texture of
Haagen Daz Low Fat Frozen Yogurt in Vanilla Raspberry Swirl

I love how rich and creamy Haagen Daz’ ice creams are, so I was slightly bummed that the vanilla frozen yogurt wasn’t as thick and full-bodied. It wasn’t exactly watery, but it had a light texture because its low-fat, so I found it was really easy to eat a lot of it at once.

I did enjoy the texture of the raspberry sorbet though. Even though it doesn’t have a creamy feel it was really smooth. And overall I thought that the textures of the vanilla yogurt and sorbet went well together.

Taste of
Haagen Daz Low Fat Frozen Yogurt in Vanilla Raspberry Swirl

I thought that the Vanilla Rasberry Swirl tasted great. I could taste most of the ingredients in the vanilla frozen yogurt. The sweetness and warm taste of the sugar and vanilla is present, but I could also taste a slight bit of tartness from the active cultures, I also could taste the eggs, which gave the yogurt a bit of a custard-like taste. I loved it.

The raspberry sorbet was also delicious. It mostly tasted like a blend of raspberries and lemon juice. It was sweet but with a sour kick. And again the frozen yogurt went so well with the sorbet, the two flavors really worked well together and made a delicious combination.

In The End…

I will definitely be buying the Haagen Daz Vanilla Raspberry Swirl again because it’s so good. I will probably wait until the weather warms up to pick up my next pint though, since the light texture of this frozen yogurt will work better then. I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
