One of the new shining stars in the Fox lineup is Glenn Beck. He has a great moral compass which connects with the center-right views of Americans. Glenn Beck is quick to criticize both Republicans and Democrats. The latest group in his cross-hairs is Progressives. Either by fate or luck, Glenn Beck has connected with a central theme that appears to have substance with his viewers. He has repackage his message into three simple tenets of Faith, Hope and Charity.
Glenn Beck has iconized three of our founding fathers to represent Faith, Hope and Charity. Faith is extolled by Samuel Adams. George Washington is viewed as the epitome of Hope. Ben Franklin has been anointed with the virtues of Charity. Each of these three founding fathers are painted with their monikers prominently displayed in Glenn Beck’s television studio each night.
Glenn Beck is making the case that the Progressive Movement has been a calculated a purposeful erosion of the American Values in an attempt to separate them from the Declaration of Independence. Once accomplished, the American People will subtly allow government to increase power beyond a tipping point. In effect, the point of no return. Purveyors of Freedom view the tipping point as Health Care Reform legislation ushered in by the Obama Administration and a Progressive biased congress. The fundamental reason it has been rejected is because of the increase government control.
In a recent episode from his television show, Glenn Beck had three modern day experts to reiterate his point of Faith, Hope and Charity. Faith was a principal theme as evidenced by many core American values that have been rooted in Faith. The Declaration of Independence acknowledges that our rights are given to us by God and not Government. Our currency emboldens, “In God we Trust.” Our Pledge of Allegiance reaffirms we are One Nation Under God. Over the last 100 years, Glenn Beck contends that Progressives have been on a mission to destroy the bond between individuals and their faith by attacking prayer in school and other religious references that have been fundamental to our culture. Samuel Adams is our guiding light for Faith in this country.
The message of Hope has been cleverly woven into a dependence upon government and away from our entrepreneurial roots according to Glenn Beck. Early in our nation’s history, leaders like George Washington were leery of a government with too much power. The Constitution was specifically written to limit the insidious expansion of a government upon its people. They had just put their lives at risk to defend individual freedoms and knew far too well the consequences of big government. Today, our leadership is consumed with gaining more and more control. The education system, the Federal Reserve, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Food and Drug Administration and recently, the near nationalization of our banks and automobile industry. This list could go on and as evidenced by the huge expansion of our government. The Health Care grab has been too audacious even after years of value erosion by progressives. Glenn Beck and others have been the voice of conscious for those that value freedom.
There is a duty to Charity according to Glenn Beck. In fact we are the most giving country in the history of the world. The explicit difference is that Charity should be a private matter and not entitlement based. We must become a nation that depends on our neighbors more than the government. Glenn Beck contends that It is in the very fiber of our being. American charity among neighbors is on display with every national disaster. Rarely is there looting and violence when a natural disaster strikes our great country. We are a civil people that help each other. When your moral compass is about individualism and not expecting or receiving entitlements, there is not an impetus to do harm to authority or mistreat your neighbor.
Glenn Beck was instrumental in the launch of the 912 Project which captures 9 principles and 12 values. The initiative is education based and not issues based. Through his message of Faith, Hope and Charity, Glenn Beck is embarking on an American Revival tour in a few cities. Glenn Beck’s mission is to restore honor to American culture.
