Over the next few months I plan on writing a tribute every week or so to some of my favorite friends and writers on Associated Content. I hope you will explore along with me and realize why I think these writers are not only great at writing, but great folks as people as well!
This is my third installation and I would like to feature four outstanding writers who never cease to amaze me. As always, my choices in this selection are caring people, interesting and talented writers, and not only some of my favorite writers, but also some of my favorite people.
One of these contributors is Langley Cornwell. She is very caring, attentive, and writes a variety pieces from poetry and reviews to short stories, tutorials, and important information on a range of subjects. I must admit that I first started loving her because she’s an animal lover like me. She has some of the cutest slideshows I have ever seen, such as one of my favorites: Pet Photographs: Dog on Cat Sweetness, beautiful and cute best buddies snoozing together, a must see!
She writes many fun poems, such as one of her most recent, expressing in a humorous way how close she is to hopping to the next clout level with Can You Increase Page VIews by Writing a Limerick?
She has helped clarify many things for me. I was almost clueless until I learned a great deal by reading the humorous yet informative Twitter and Associated Content : Answering the Tough Questions. Not only does she educate some of us Twitter-challenged folks with that piece, but she also writes many important pieces about breeds of cats and dogs, how to make healthy and inexpensive bag lunches for schoolchildren, fitness, and much more, and it’s all done with intelligence plus a bit (or a lot) of humor. Check out Langley’s contributor profile, and add another wonderful person to your favorites, as I am sure she’ll become one of yours just as she is one of mine. (Also, check out a few extra pieces of her work today, as she has a goal of pushing through hard to the next clout level!)
Next up is Donald Pennington, but where in the world shall I start with this fella?? Donald is well-known throughout the AC community and quite a character. WIth almost 650 pieces published at this time, his collection includes a variety of (dare I say controversial) political pieces, and he obviously isn’t scared to share his opinion regarding Obama and other political folks and issues, such as his Are President Obama and Attorney General Holder Trying to Taint the Terrorist Trials? and What Has Obama Done and What Do We Owe Obama For?, among MANY others, but he also shows a very compassionate and sensitive side in many of his pieces, such as his more recent About Haiti: How Hard is it to Give?, and why he likes the band Blue October… No insensitive prick would admit to liking that band, so I know he’s a softy at heart. He also writes about spending holidays alone, how-to’s such as How to Get Gum Out of a Carpet, and a variety of instructional and educational pieces on a very wide range of topics.
He also tackles tough topics such as the homeless situation, how to get an ex-spouse to stop talking badly about you in front of the children, and more. Check out The Giving Tree: Why is the City of Tucson Trying to Destroy Her?
Also in his collection, for all you Facebook gamers, are an extensive collection of pieces related to games on this social network, such as Facebook Vampire Wars: Big, Fat, Hairy Deal! and Facebook Vampire Wars: Minions First! There is a lot of humor and personality expressed in his work. Whether you agree with his views or not, if you’ve been living in a hole and have not heard of Mr. Pennington, check out his source page.
Another sweetie is Jenny Wagner. With over 350 published pieces to date, she’s at a clout level of 10 and in the top 1000, just like Donald Pennington, and for good reason. She’s a very kind person and always has words of encouragement to offer for anyone who needs them, as well as advice and assistance readily available for anyone who asks. Her patience and motherly charm shine through, though she is still very young and young at heart as well, which makes her worldly, fun, and wise.
She writes unique and helpful articles, such as Lock Bumping Prevention. I don’t think many of us had heard of this before reading her article. She shares many home improvement and decorating ideas, such as one of her recent pieces: 5 Ways to Disguise a Basement Ceiling.
Fun pieces such as AC’s Sexiest Men of 2009 and An Online Pregnancy Test? keep us entertained and wanting more, while pieces such as Natural Skin Care Treatments, Super Bowl Party Planning, What to Look for in a Fondue Set, and dozens upon dozens of others guide us and help us learn something.
She shares reviews of video games, restaurants, products, and also shares a few selections of poetry and short stories. No matter who you are, she will have at least a dozen articles of interest to you because her variety of topics is so varied and includes something for everyone. Check out Jennifer Wagner and let her know that you, too, appreciate her.
Lastly in this edition, I’d like to share a kind soul named Dina Quirion. Dina shows us her soul by her many haikus and other poetry, many of which dote on her cute, handsome little son. She also shares her love of animal with her writings as well as her own personal struggles, sometimes internal and sometimes external.
Lately she’s been sharing many pieces on dream interpretation, which fascinate many readers, such as her Dreaming About Being Locked Out and Dreaming of Getting Lost, Losing Someone or Something. Also be sure to check out Dreaming About Dreaming. Many pieces are also written to try to help us better ourselves, such as Small Techniques You Can Try to Make Better Eye Contact and Appear More Confident and How to Show Your Fondness Towards Someone Without Appearing Too Forward.
In addition, she provides a plethora of DIY articles and how-tos, from Ways to Banish Clutter from Your Bathroom Part I and Simple Hints & Tricks for Wood Siding to Kitchens: Tricks for Cabinets and Countertops and Natural Disaster Emergencies Safety Tips and Hints.
Obviously Dina also has something for everyone and if you stop by, I am sure you’ll find more than a couple dozen articles that help you or touch you. Visit Dina Quirion’s source page now.
These are some of my favorites for many reasons, and if you’ve never heard of them, I am proud to introduce you to them for the first time. I’m sure you’ll love them as much as I do… Remember, more favorites are soon to be featured! It might even be YOU next!
