Staying warm when you’re an athlete outside is something that’s extremely important. I know back in high school when I would run in the mornings before practice, it would be freezing outside in the spring with temperatures around 40 degrees. Of course, back then, I ran in shorts and a t-shirt and basically froze my you-know-what off. Now I’m in college and a lot smarter when it comes to what I wear when I work out. I no longer sport shorts and a tank top or t-shirt in the freezing early mornings. Instead I stumbled upon some great new apparel that is both warm and comfortable.
I recently took up running in the early mornings again to get back into shape. I love being outside in the fresh air as opposed to a stuffy weight room or work out/fitness center. The best thing for me is to get into a good routine. When I first started running outside, I started by wearing a t-shirt and shorts. However, I realized that I was freezing while I was sweating. I knew I had to invest in some better apparel and quickly because I wanted to keep working out every day and continue running outside. But I wondered what clothing would be best for me.
A friend of mine suggested Under Armour. I always figured Under Armour was for serious athletes and professional football players. However, my friend assured me that Under Armour was also marketed to people who were considered amateur athletes and just people who wanted to work out. This seemed like a great idea to me. I decided to hop on to the Under Armour website and start shopping. I specifically had heard great things about their ColdGear line, so that was immediately what I searched for. The first thing that popped up in the search engine was the Under Armour Women’s ColdGear Subzero Mock for $49.99, which comes in a variety of different colors and sizes. It also has numerous features, including double-layered fabric, compression fit, rotated seams, UPF 30+ to protect against the sun, as well as a brushed inner layer to make it easy to slip on. I decided to purchase the Under Armour Women’s ColdGear Subzero Mock for $49.99 in an XXL in black.
Immediately upon receiving the Under Armour Women’s ColdGear Subzero Mock, I wanted to try it out. It actually fits very true to size and it’s very comfortable. It may seem difficult and tight to put on, but it actually slips on very easily. Never once did I feel too tightly bound in the shirt either. Instead, I could move around freely in it with no problems. Sweating also wasn’t an issue either. The sweat never soaked through or left any stains, which is great. Also, the shirt goes great under a sweatshirt, t-shirt, long sleeve tee, and more. You can also wear it on its own. It’s actually quite stylish for athletic wear.
Overall, I would rate the Under Armour Women’s ColdGear Subzero Mock a 5/5. It’s simply a great work out staple to have in your wardrobe. It’s easy to wash, wear, and work out in. I would recommend it to any woman looking for warming work out wear.
