Cheating is an act of lying, deception, fraud, trickery, imposture, or imposition. Cheating characteristically is employed to create an unfair advantage, usually in one’s own interest, and often at the expense of others, Cheating implies the breaking of rules.
There are many forms of cheating but all of those examples lead to the same thing. You either lied about something or deceived someone and got away with it or maybe you got caught. As children we learn to cheat in school when we know we didn’t study for exams or if we do not know the subject. While that is not acceptable, you can understand that at least a little. Now other forms of cheating are more critical. Cheating in relationships is in the top percentile. Men and Women know that cheating is wrong and someone will wind up hurt but we continue to do it. There are many excuses why you may cheat in a relationship. Maybe you are lonely, want revenge or your partner may lack a quality you see elsewhere but still that is no excuse. Go elsewhere and save the other person and yourself the pain! I am a victim of cheating so I know how this feels and the constant question runs through my mind What do you get out of cheating?
People cheat each other when it comes to finances also. People will start up an opportunity to draw people in so they can contribute finances and the so called business opportunity will disappear and you lose out to someone Else’s gain. People cheat in sports also! They will do something against the rules and try to get away with it just to win. This is plain wrong but it happens everyday. We are aware of karma but yet it doesn’t stop the cheating. I had a situation at my old job where a guy came in acting as if he wanted to purchase a few snacks. He came in with a friend and I suspected nothing but for some reason my eyes we very attentive to everything that was going on. He gave me a $20 bill to pay for the snacks and then he decided he didn’t want it anymore. When I gave him the $20 bill back and put my head down within a split second I saw a $1.00 bill in his hand. He said “I gave you a Twenty”. I looked at him with disgust and told him I gave you a Twenty back. I knew he tried to fool me and he knew I wasn’t buying it so he left. 2 years later I see two guys coming in my job again. I said to myself I know this guy and that situation came back to me. I wasn’t sure if it was him until it was time for the transaction. This time I saw the slick trick he tried on me and again I just looked at him with disgust. What do people get out of trying to cheat people?
Business companies, Family, Friends, Enemies, Everybody does some form of cheating! I am also guilty of some forms of cheating. Those were not the best actions to take but the important thing is to learn from your mistakes and do better. Don’t keep doing the same thing over and over and claim that you have a problem and you want to get help because that is bogus. Once a cheater always a cheater? That is an age old argument that has yet to be proven right.
