Like practically everyone else in the United States, our family is on a tight budget when it comes to holiday spending. With Easter just around the corner, dollar stores are anticipating the need for cheap $1 Easter gifts for kids, and are already filling up with Easter merchandise.
Based on past history, the time to buy these cheap dollar store gifts is when they first come out in the stores. Wait too long, and the merchandise will be gone by the time the holiday rolls around. Baskets, cellowrap, and basket fillers. To build a basket, you’ll need a cheap dollar store Easter basket, a roll of Easter themed cellowrap for enclosing the basket, and some filler to plump up the base. Puzzle Easter eggs, Easter tops, gliders, Easter noise makers, Easter puzzles, Easter coloring books, story books, and Easter bingo cards were just a few of the Easter toys and games found at the Dollar Tree. DVDs. It’s hard to beat $1 DVD, and lately Dollar Tree and Honk’s have been rolling out a nice selection of cheap cartoon DVDs that kids will enjoy. We’ve been surprised at the quality which was surprisingly good. Cost per DVD: $1
Candy & Easter pastries. Dollar stores and discount departments stores are filled with a wide selection of cheap candies and pastries for a child’s Easter basket. The Palmer’s Candy company makes Easter bunnies priced for $1. There’s also the iconic Peeps chicks and bunnies, and the Little Debbie Brand of Easter Cakes. Total cost: $1-3 depending on quantity.
