When it comes to weird dating sites, CanDoBetter.com is one of the wildest new dating sites out there with a concept that’s kind of like HotOrNot.com, except instead of browsing through pictures of singles and rating them on a scale of 1 to 10 or clicking the “Meet Me” button yourself, you upload your photo alongside pictures of a potential partner and users decide if “She can do better” or “He can do better”. But while it may seem odd to have the internet decide who is right for you, CanDoBetter.com is relatively tame compared to other weird dating sites already out there.
While I don’t believe going with who the crowd thinks you should leads to a healthy relationship, CanDoBetter.com makes sense for the internet, where we’re constantly getting opinions from our “friends” about things on Twitter and Facebook, trying to figure out what celebrity we resemble most, and taking quizzes on what characters from Harry Potter, Twilight, Family Guy, and Spongebob we are. It only makes sense that a dating site like CanDoBetter with an interactive option that lets you share your dating experience with your hundreds of friends on the internet would become one of the most popular weird dating sites on the web. But if it’s not weird enough for you, there are plenty of other strange dating sites out there.
On the tamer side of weird dating sites, you’ve got FarmersOnly.com, one of the weird dating sites that actually makes sense, since farmers living a lonely life in the middle of the country might have a difficult time meeting people. Then you’ve got plenty of weird dating sites like SugarDaddie.com, which basically match up attractive gold diggers/wannabe trophy wives with, well, sugar daddies. But these definitely aren’t the worst of the weird dating sites out there.
AshleyMadison.com is a website dedicated to helping its married members have extramarital affairs, and there are plenty of weird dating sites like Vampersonals.com that look to match up Goths and vampires (good luck finding Edward Cullen out there). Then you’ve got weird dating sites for the pet-obsessed, like DateMyPet.com, a dating site for pet lovers or their pets (poor pooches are still having to suffer the indignity of arranged marriages!). DateCraft is one of the weird dating sites out there that you know has to be wildly popular, as the World of Warcraft fans it looks to match up don’t get out of the house much. Then you’ve got sites like STDFriends, which looks to match users based on their compatible STDs, and PolyMatchmaker.com, where those looking to start a relationship with more than one person at once can try to juggle as many mates as they choose.
Then you’ve got the weird dating sites for those with fetishes, like Pounced.org, a place where single furries can find mates or friends (hey, at least by dressing like a giant teddy bear, you don’t have to buy one for your date), and TallFriends.com, where tall people and their fans can get together. But perhaps one of the strangest of the weird dating sites dedicated to fetishes is DailyDiapers.com, a place where adults that like to wear diapers (not the kind that have to wear them do to embarrassing physical problems) can find a mate to play their mommy.
Then you’ve got a whole slew of other weird dating sites, including CrazyBlindDate.com, where you agree to go on a last-minute blind date without seeing a picture of your date or talking to them beforehand; NoLongerLonely.com, where people with mental illnesses can meet and live happily ever after in their own delusional worlds; AsoundMatch.com, where music-loving potential dates are matched by their music preferences; and 420Dating, a website that’s obviously meant for stoners (although it has to say it doesn’t advocate drug use in its TOS), who can get matched on important points of compatibility, like whether they get the munchies for Funyuns or French fries, whether they prefer joints or glass pipes, and whether they’re the kind of stoner that freaks out or mellows out.
And if you get tired of visiting all these weird dating sites on your quest for love, you can always send your DNA to ScientificMatch.com, where, for $2000, you can find out who you perfect match is genetically (so then you can have genetically perfect children).
So can you find lasting romance through CanDoBetter.com and these other weird dating sites? I highly doubt it, but it’s nice to know they’re out there when you get really desperate to avoid being lonely here in the real world for a little while.
