If you were looking for the tallest buildings in the world you can find the top three listed here:
1. The Burj Dubai stands at over 800 meters or more than 2,600 feet as the current worlds tallest building.
2. The Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan is in second place now trying to become tallest “Green” structure. This tall building stands at 508 meters or 1,667 feet tall.
3. In third place of World’s Tallest Buildings is the World Financial Center in Shanghai, China. This building measures 492 meters or 1,614 feet tall.
The Burj Dubai the newest to join the world’s tallest building list is at the top and in comparison the Empire State Building in New York is in fourteenth place. If you have ever been to the Empire State Building or seen it, that building is huge, but it is only about half of the size of the new Burj Dubai building that tops the list.
Not only is the Burj Dubai the tallest building by far it is likened to the Taipei 101 with another tall tower sitting on top of it. The Burj Dubai is almost 1,000 feet taller than the next tallest building. This extra 1,000 feet is to ensure that their building will stay at the top of the tallest buildings list for quite a while. With the current status of the world’s economies the Burj in Dubai has secured the number one spot for years to come.
There are 162 floors in the Burj Dubai so if you were afraid of heights you would not want to visit this tall building. They are going to have apartments in the lower portion of the Burj building. There are also offices available on the top half of the Burj. The Burj Dubai is set up almost like a little town, or not so little, just more vertical. They have a gym for working out and one of the floors will be host to a restaurant. With an indoor and outdoor pool and even a nightclub they have thought of something for just about everyone.
The Burj in Dubai is now a world icon of past economic wealth. As most people have heard that the once incredibly wealthy Dubai is also having debt issues. They have given a structure that will hopefully last for a long time as a testament to their once financially rich paradise.
Don’t expect to move in anytime soon though because all available space has been spoken for in the Burj Dubai. Who wouldn’t want to be part of history and live, work or party in the world’s tallest building? Many people want to go to the top and touch the sky. Although with credit and debt problems and the enormous cost of the Burj Dubai rent may be hard to afford so there may be some vacancies soon enough.
