I am addicted to finding out about the latest beauty product or tip. I have and will try any beauty product or tip at least once. As we get older we try to recapture our youthful skin and looks that we so effortlessly had in our youth. I have several beauty tips that I do on a regular basis, and are staples in my beauty routine. Many of these tips use products you already have in your home.
Facial masks are great for the feet. Apply a facial moisturizing mask on your feet. This helps make your feet soft, and helps remove the dry skin. I do this at least three times a week, especially throughout the winter months. To save time, do the moisturizing facial mask on the feet and face at the same time.
Olive oil is a multi-purpose beauty remedy. Olive oil makes your cuticles soft. Put some warm olive oil in a bowl, then soak the tips of your fingers. Another use for olive oil is to remove waterproof mascara. Place a few drops of olive oil on a cotton ball, then close your eyes and gently glide the cotton ball over each eyelid. I have also used a clean makeup sponge to remove my mascara with olive oil.
Water can refresh your makeup. If you are going out and don’t have time to reapply your makeup, spritz your face with water. While your face is wet, start reblending your foundation and concealer you already have on. I carry Q-tips in my purse for this very reason. After spritzing my face I gently use this tip of the Q-tip to help me reblend my makeup.
Moisturizer can help give you a even sunless tan. This time of year many of us use a sunless tanning lotion to give our skin a sun-kissed look. A sunless tan can give skin a more youthful look, and hide a multitude of sins. Unfortunately, a sunless tanner can give us a streaked tan. Place some sunless tanner in a small bowl, then mix in a few drops of moisturizer. This helps to dilute the formula giving you an even sunless tan.
Raw Potatoes can help the dark circles under the eyes. As we start aging dark circles under the eyes become more prominent. Place a slice of potato on the dark circles under your eyes. I do this four times a week, for approximately 15 minutes each of the four days. The potato contains catecholase enzyme which is a skin lightener used in many cosmetics. I was skeptical, but after a couple of tries I started to notice a change in the dark circles under my eyes.
Vaseline can help dry skin and the longevity of your perfume. To make your fragrance last longer rub a thin layer of Vaseline on your skin before spraying on your perfume or body lotion. Oily or moisturized skin will help hold the scent on your body longer than dry skin.
