We all know the routine. Cleanser, toner, moisturizer, foundation, then makeup. Each of these steps are essential to the perfect beauty routine and the perfect look in the end. What many people don’t realize is that one of the most essentials steps is the toner. Toner has the ability to wipe off any excess dirt on your face that a cleanser might leave. It also provides for a matte finish before applying a moisturizer.
There are tons of different toners out on the market today. Different toners also provide different things for different skin types as well. Some provide a matte finish, while others are deep pore cleansing. For my skin, I desperately needed a toner than would help with my acne. I get insane amounts of small blemishes all along the sides of my face and my lower chin.
Perricone MD is one of my favorite brands because it provides a variety of different skin care products as well as supplements for skin and overall health. I’ve tried Perricone MD’s supplements and cleansers before, so now I figured it was time to try one of Perricone MD’s toners. One of the brand’s toners that appealed to me was the Skin Clear Toner. According to Perricone MD’s website, the Skin Clear Toner “calms inflammation and refreshes skin without drying.” This was exactly what I was looking for. Not to mention it’s also anti-bacterial, which I hoped would help with my acne.
The price for the product is $35 for a 6 fl oz. bottle and it can be purchased directly from the Perricone MD site and at Sephora. At first I thought the price was rather steep. However, overall the Skin Clear Cleanser lasts 3 months if used twice daily with two pumps on a cotton pad. I began using the product in the mornings and at night. It goes on almost like water. It leaves your skin very tight feeling, as if reducing your pore size, and also clears away any dirt my cleanser left behind.
Within the first week I saw a reduction in my acne. My skin also felt permanently tighter and also my pores began to look smaller as well within a month of using twice daily.
Overall, I would rate this product a 3.5/5. It’s a great product if you need a solid toner that will help with your acne. It’s not for those with dry skin though. I felt that the dryer parts of my face, like my chin and cheeks, would become even dryer from the toner. Additionally, the price is a little steep, at least steeper than other toners you can find at your local drugstore. However, better deals on this product can be found online at websites like Amazon and eBay.
