Humanistic or psychological astrology
This branch of astrology does not look at the planets and stars and then attribute mysterious and irresistible forces happening to our lives. Described as a symbolic language, Humanistic astrologers view cyclic patterns, and essential functions operating within a holistic framework.
Because humanistic astrologers simply don’t know the precise reason that astrology works, they focus on the symbolism. If a humanistic astrologer speculates about synchronicity or offers an explanation he cannot offer clear scientific evidence that it works.
So it is with the world. Even modern scientists don’t know how and why some of the scientific axioms work. A good example of the same is electricity.
Electricity lit up the world in the early 1900’s. Did anyone know exactly how it worked? No. People just knew that it did actually work. More recently, the scientific proof has been discovered, but people have had to be concerned that it does work, more so than how.
Prediction is like playing cards with a partner. Each hold the cards that will be played out in the game. The planets hold part of the deck in their movements through space. The subject of a prediction has free will, and the choices are what make the difference in the outcome.
The purpose of modern prediction is to clarify the choices available for a certain time period, and to note the relativity of the movement of the planets, and relate these to a specific natal horoscope.
The basic belief in karmic astrology is that the soul of an incarnated being, makes a choice to come into the world under certain conditions. The purpose of the incarnated journey is to learn the karmic lessons that are slated for this lifetime. The belief is also put forth that sometimes the journey of this life is to make up for past mistakes, or to complete unfinished life business.
Centered on compatibility with a certain area of the world, some believe that they can start a new life within a reincarnation. A new location means a new life, but will the new location really make a difference? However, in order for a relocation to make a significant difference, one must move quite far away from his or her origin.
This is a very old branch of astrology. The way it works is to draw up a chart for the very moment of any event. Did you lose the remote to your T.V.? Do an horary chart. Did you stub your toe on the bedpost this morning? See what your horary astrologer has to tell you. Starting a business? You know what to do.
A very strict procedure is used in this type of astrology, and the moon is of utmost importance.
There are those who believe everything in life is a matter of perception. The same is true of astrological preferences.
