Nothing to do on a Sunday in Australia? Why not get together with 5,200 other people and take all your clothes off! That’s what happened Sunday, February 28, 2010 in Sidney, Australia – right on the grounds of the famous Opera House!
The 5,200 brave souls took off all their clothes and went au natural on the steps of the Sidney Oprah House. Why? Spencer Tunick is the answer. The photographer does this for a living, group nudes is his specialty.
Seems he spent well over an hour getting the participants positioned correctly. This aired this morning on ‘The Today Show’ but the shots were from a distance. You could barely tell they were people let alone bare-butt and topless people.
Some of those involved thought it was more a tribal thing than a nude thing. Hum, they must be young. Taking your clothes off in public and not calling it a nude thing sure, right! Oh, the photographer doesn’t want to be called a photographer, he says he is an artist. Ok!
Tunick makes his living through over-exposed people. Some titles for his photo that I came up with include:
Moon over Sidney
They Took it Off for Sidney
Opera Under a New Moon
How Many Moons Do You Count?
They Let It All Hang Out for Art and for Mary and Jean and Sam and Don
I hear that Tunick’s services are being requested here in Tennessee. Tourist season is approaching so maybe we will see one of these phrases on license plates and billboards: Possibilities include:
Naked in Nashville
Hot and Smokin’ in The Smokies
Nothing to Wear, Go Bare
Tennessee, Means No Clothes For Me
Atlanta, Georgia wants in on the act also with:
You Thought Atlanta Was Hot Before?
Naked Under The Peaches
Bare Butts Galore And More
This Should Stop Traffic on I-75
Head Lights and Tail Lights Everywhere
How Does Atlanta Measure Up?
Oh well, this has been a lot of fun. Now if you excuse me I missed a phone call and the message that was left is rather interesting. It goes something like this, “Hello, this is Mr. Buff calling in reference to your request for a public viewing. To answer your question clothing is most surely not required. Natural is always the best option.”
Mr. Buff runs the local pet funeral home and I was inquiring about their procedures for an article I’m writing!! Yeah, right!
