Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa Micro-Dermabrasion Kit is a three-step beauty treatment meant to cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize all skin types. I have tried spa facials and professional micro-dermabrasion treatments. While they work, the professional and spa treatments are not budget-friendly. I have found that Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa Micro-Dermabrasion Kit works well with my skin, produces close to professional results and costs nowhere near as much as a visit to the spa. Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa Micro-Dermabrasion Kit does not come without a few faults though, which the review will outline.
Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa Micro-Dermabrasion Kit: Product Information
The kit contains a pre-treatment cleanser (2.5 fl. ounces), micro-dermabrasion gel (2.5 fl. ounces) and a post-treatment calming balm (1.7 fl. ounces). According to the package, the cleanser is gentle, helps to purify and prepare your skin for the micro-dermabrasion process. The micro-dermabrasion gel contains blue polyethylene exfoliating pearls as well as Vitamin B5. The gel is supposed to scuff and exfoliate the skin’s surface, and is supposed be gentle. The post treatment balm calms and soothes the skin by moisturizing, and reduces appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa Micro-Dermabrasion Kit: Good and Bad Results
I found the kit easy to use. I preferred to cleanse my face in the shower, when my pores would open. I would also use the kit at nighttime. The package recommends using in the morning or at night.
My favorite part of Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa Micro-Dermabrasion Kit was the cleanser. It cleaned my skin well. My face would feel fresh and no irritation occurred, even on my sensitive skin.
I would follow up with the micro-dermabrasion gel immediately, while still in the shower, rubbing the gel in a circular motion on my face. I would massage the product for a minute, as recommended.
The first time I used it, I was very happy with the micro-dermabrasion results. I have used several different micro-dermabrasion at-home kits before, and I thought this would sure be my favorite. This product did cause some irritation, similar to results I have had with other kits, so I was not alarmed. I really disliked the fact that my skin would be dry and flakey if I did not apply the calming balm almost immediately after micro-dermabrasion. I would have to keep the balm at an arms reach, or my face would start to tighten up and I would feel it dry out. This was very inconvenient, especially if anything distracted me after getting out of the shower.
The calming balm worked very well when used immediately after micro-dermabrasion. I would notice that my skin would feel instantly smoother and softer. I also loved the fact that I would wake up with baby-soft face in the morning. I also liked that Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa calming balm contains SPF 15. It may not be much for sun protection in terms of SPF strength, but even a little helps to fight the harmful sunrays.
According to the package, Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa calming balm is to be reapplied as needed. I tried to apply the balm several times without using the rest of the products. My face felt oily and heavy. The skin above my eyebrows felt heavy and uncomfortable. I stopped applying the calming balm as a moisturizer throughout the day. I went back to other products that felt lighter.
Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa Micro-Dermabrasion Kit: Skin Type Recommendation
I would recommend Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa Micro-Dermabrasion Kit to most skin types, from oily to dry skin. I would recommend that you use the products less than what the package says. I have sensitive skin type; I found that using Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa Micro-Dermabrasion Kit once a week was plenty.
Using it twice a week made my face extremely red after micro-dermabrasion, although it did not produce any stinging sensation. I would say that you should consider using the kit less in case you have uncomfortable redness or irritation. Severe irritation should probably result in discontinuing using the product. It is however normal to feel your skin reacting while using any micro-dermabrasion skin treatment.
Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa Micro-Dermabrasion Kit: Availability
My biggest disappointment in Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa Micro-Dermabrasion Kit was the lack of availability on store shelves. I ran into this product in a store clearance section. Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa Micro-Dermabrasion Kit retails for around $20 but I found it on sale for $5. The kit is available online through stores such as Amazon.com, and you may be lucky to find it in a store near you. According to various online reports, Nivea Visage beauty line sells in Canada and Europe, and is not very promoted or sold in the United States.
Overall, I would say that Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa Micro-Dermabrasion Kit works well, but you have to take a few negative points in order to achieve positive results with this beauty treatment. I have used the kit for several weeks and am finding it to be a good micro-dermabrasion at-home treatment. I especially like the way my skin feels in the mornings, many other products I have tried do not have this result. I do believe the product, especially the balm, delivered in its promise to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
I believe that my previous experiences with micro-dermabrasion helped me continue using Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa Micro-Dermabrasion Kit. Someone new to micro-dermabrasion may feel discouraged because of skin reaction. I would say to give Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa Micro-Dermabrasion Kit a fair chance before deciding it is not for your skin type.
