Ali Hassan al-Majid al-Tikritieh, otherwise known as best as “Chemical Ali” and secondly the “Butcher of Kurdistan”, has been executed yesterday. Not many will lose sleep over this hanging. Why?
Chemical Ali’s Words:
Ali Hassan received his nicknames from the Iraqi Kurds shortly following Ali Hassan’s haunting words to Saddam Hussein during the 1979 Ba’ath Party. “You have been too gentle, too merciful.”
“Within their jurisdiction, the armed forces must kill any human being or animal present in these areas.” A signed decree by Ali Hassan resulting in an approximate 180,000 Kurd deaths (almost the amount of Haitians that died during and after the 7.0 earthquake). 1.5 Kurds had been deported as well.
“I will smash their heads. These kinds of dogs, we will crush their heads.” In the same paragraph Hassan states, “The Ba’ath Party director must write to me saying that the following people are living in that place. Immediately I will say blow him away, cut him up like a cucumber.”
Hassan’s obsession with bombs and knives mirrors his character. You can view Hassan’s statements via Human Rights News.
Ali Hassan’s shell attacks on the Kurds included mustard gas, sarin, tabun and VX. Hassan stated that anyone speaking the Kurdish language must die. 5,600 people in the town of Halabja fell victim to Hassan’s dangerous chemicals.
Kurdish regions were at harms way through the acts of this madman. What transpired on the Kurds was nothing less of evil. Skin peeling if the Kurds lived, chemical drips and sliced torture. The Kurds still feel the sting as fresh today as yesterday.
Ali Hassan’s title switched from Iraqi Intelligence Service, Minister of Local Government to Interior Minister and then the Defence (Defense) Minister. American military stepped in to cease all and any members of Iraq’s deadly leaders, including Ali Hassan.
Ali Hassan was arrested by American forces during August of 2003. The trials surfaced Hassan’s unbelievable acts of violence. But Hassan thought he had a good defense calling his warnings a “psychological effect” rather than a murderous intent. However, Hassan attacked Kurds resulting in psychological and physical damage and death, genocide. Hassan also murdered Shai Muslims to add more notches on his list of exterminations.
What justifies the execution on the fourth death penalty of Butcher of Kurdistan a.k.a. Chemical Ali?
If you haven’t figured it out by now, you never will.
