I love barbecue. I enjoy trying different brands and types of barbecue, also. Recently, I came across a can of Patterson’s Smokehouse Cooked Barbecue Beef in the canned meats section of my local grocery store. The price was right. I decided to purchase this beef barbecue, try it out and write a product review all about my personal experience. Here is what I discovered!
Patterson’s Smokehouse Cooked Barbecue Beef was on sale, when I discovered it. Two dollars is not a bad price for this type of product. I was delighted and I decided to purchase it, along with a pack of hamburger buns. This barbeque beef does have barbecue sauce in it already, so that fact is nice. I also noticed that one serving of it has only 120 calories. Spectacular! One can makes four barbecue sandwiches. That is great! What really attracted me to this product was it’s affordable price. I can throw a meal together for around three dollars. Add chips, pickles or beans and potato salad, not to mention fries, and you have a budget friendly feast. Any of those side dishes work well with this barbecue beef.
The preparation of Patterson’s Smokehouse Cooked Barbecue Beef is simple and fast. I poured it into a microwave safe bowl, covered and cooked on high for a few minutes. It is a great microwave cooking food item and it smelled delicious! I could not wait to try it. A relative of mine decided to enjoy it with me. We each had a barbecue beef sandwich using the hamburger buns. We added a bit of fat free mayo and a few sliced pickles to our sandwiches, also. I served a side of potato chips. That was really all we needed.
Patterson’s Smokehouse Cooked Barbecue Beef was very tasty! When we tried our sandwiches, we both agreed that we liked them very much. This is not by any means great barbecue but, it is tasty and filling. There is not a lot of thickness to the meat, it is a bit ground up and that was somewhat disappointing. Still, the low price was worth trying this barbecue beef, that is for sure. I rate it three stars out of five stars. You can tell that it is canned. I probably would not choose this particular barbecue again but, I do really like Patterson’s barbecue pork. It is better, in my opinion.
Patterson’s Smokehouse Cooked Barbecue Beef has 120 calories in one serving. 70 of those calories come from fat. It has 8 grams of total fat, 3 grams of saturated fat, not bad, 20 mg’s of cholesterol, 230 mg’s of sodium, not bad, 2 grams of total carbs, wow, 1 gram of dietary fiber, 2 grams of sugars and 10 grams of protein. Overall, I was quite impressed with all of that information. It is low in sodium for barbecue beef! It does contain soy ingredients. This barbecue beef is made in the USA.
I enjoyed trying Patterson’s Smokehouse Cooked Barbecue Beef and writing this product review all about it. It is worth the money.
