2010 Mardi Gras Events and Parades in Phoenix, Arizona

February 16 is Fat Tuesday in New Orleans. It’s also party time in the Phoenix, Arizona area. Whether it’s parades, fine food and drinks or all of the above, you can find it in the Phoenix area. So come check out the local scene and you can party like you were in The Big Easy. Here are some great things that you will not want to miss.

Mardi Gras Festival and Parade: Saturday, February 6
This is an awesome outside Mardi Gras festival in the Phoenix area. Located in historical downtown Chandler this event has it all. This event includes a Dixieland Parade, live jazz music, street performances and Creole
style food tasting tables. The cocktail reception begins at 6:00 PM. The main event starts at 7:00 PM and includes costumes and the crowning of the King and Queen. The event is located at the Crown Plaza San Marcos Resort, located at One San Marcos Place in downtown Chandler, Arizona. The tickets are $75.00 per person that include a cocktail reception with hor d’evours, complimentary drink tickets for some local bars and tasting tables of Creole style cuisine at the main event. There are also several Phoenix area charitable organizations that are sponsoring Mardi Gras festivals. Here are some places you can celebrate Mardi Gras and help a good cause at the same time.

Hackett House 2nd Annual Mardi Gras Celebration: Friday, February 12
Hackett House is involved with introducing children to other countries and cultures through a variety of program
activities. The Ultimate Street Party runs from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The event includes appetizers and sweets, prizes for the King and Queen with beer, wine and hurricanes available for purchase. Ticket prices are $20.00 for members, $25.00 for non members. Hackett House is located at 95 West 4th Street, Tempe Arizona.

Arizona Science Center Annual Mardi Gras Gala: Tuesday, February 16
This event is in support of the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona. This Mardi Gras Gala includes a reception and live auctions. The Kings coronation is followed by a Katrina Carlson concert and gambling. Attire is cocktail or costume. The Arizona Science Center is located at 600 East Washington Street, Phoenix, Arizona.
